Gold Glitter Gradient Fail

So I was trying something new yesterday, rummaging through my nail polishes and thought OPI’s Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow Suede would be a good combination with OPI’s Thrills in Beverly Hills Glitter Top Coat. Using the deep emerald green as a base, I applied 3 thin coats of the gold glitter, covering lesser and lesser nail surface with each layer so it’s completely gold at the tips.

Umm… it turned out to be a bad idea. Even with Seche Vite I still couldn’t get the surface to even out and my nails felt gritty. I think it’d look better if the gold glitter was a bit darker in colour. Since my manicure was already damaged, I thought nothing of adding a layer of L.A. Girl’s Crowd Surfing to my thumb. I loved it as a layering polish! It’s a sheer light green jelly with green shimmer and orange/yellow flakies.

With more sunlight

I removed the whole manicure the next day. I totally love this shade of green! I always think OPI’s suede colours are more vibrant than their normal polish versions because it has to be jam packed with shimmer in order to shine through the suede finish. Applying a top coat over this particular suede proves it. This colour deserves a better manicure!
